Flowers 2
“Flowers 2”, an oil painting by Anna Chernysheva. ArtMix studio, Almaty. A restrained warm red and ochre palette. The overall tone is dark, with little light in the frame. The palette is rich, and the colour shifts across the surface. The dark mass gathers at the bottom, leaving the top light. The light is shifted to the left. The form is laid in broadly, with few small details. The light gathers at the top, in the centre. The palette holds around 11 distinguishable shades. The contrast is moderate: the shadows read without fighting the light. The canvas is horizontal. A work from the studio portfolio. A similar piece can be painted to order in your own subject and size.
