Leopard
“Leopard”, an oil painting by Anna Chernysheva. ArtMix studio, Almaty. A restrained warm ochre and sand palette. The overall tone is dark, with little light in the frame. There are almost no cool shades. The contrast is restrained, built in close steps. There is a lot of small detail; the surface is restless. The light gathers in the middle of the frame. The palette holds around 7 distinguishable shades. The weight is spread evenly: neither top nor bottom dominates. The left and right halves are equal in lightness. The format is square. This one has already found its owner. A similar piece can be commissioned: subject and size are agreed in advance.
