Sky with Birds
“Sky with Birds”, an oil painting by Anna Chernysheva. ArtMix studio, Almaty. The palette is cool blue, open in tone. Cool shades lead. There are few colours, and that is deliberate. The transitions are soft, without hard edges. The overall tone is light. The form is laid in broadly, with few small details. The light gathers at the bottom, in the centre. The palette holds around 4 distinguishable shades. The weight is spread evenly: neither top nor bottom dominates. The left and right halves are equal in lightness. The canvas is horizontal. The piece is in stock: you can see it at the studio and take it home the same day.
