Fruit
An original work by Anna Chernysheva: a still life with fruit, oil. ArtMix studio, Almaty. A restrained warm ochre and sand palette. There are many shades; the colour is built up in layers. The contrast is sharp: dark and light sit side by side. There is a lot of small detail; the surface is restless. The lightest area is the upper right corner. The palette holds around 12 distinguishable shades. The tone is mid-range, without extremes of dark or light. Warm and cool are held in balance. The canvas is vertical. The piece is in stock: you can see it at the studio and take it home the same day.
